So here is what was included in the December/January Taste Japan box:
These were my favourite snack in the box. These little pea looking treats are Soy bean flavoured snacks. The easiest way to describe these is that they have the consistency of crisps or crackers and the flavour of them is quite interesting at first, but once you start eating them, you can't stop! They're so tasty and I'd definitely repurchase these if I saw them.
These sweets were just the coolest thing. They're Haribo-like jelly sweets shaped like grapes which you have to pull off the vine which they're attached to. I mean, how cool is that. They're grape, muscat and melon soda flavoured apparently, but to me they all tasted very similar. I think the fact that you have to pull them from the vine (which is also edible) is the most interesting thing about this treat!
As soon as I saw the packing of this snack I was drawn to it. The little box that the chocolate comes in is bright pink and sparkley so obviously, this was the one which stood out the most to me. Inside the card package, there was a patterned foil sleeve and then the chocolate itself was all in individual pieces with little characters on each square. The packaging of this was just adorable. The chocolate was tasty and its centre was a sort of cream. Overall, it was very tasty.
Oh my god. Before I go into what these are, can I just say they are the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life and all eggs at Easter should be like these. Basically, they're chocolate eggs, which have a hollow centre and inside them, there are tiny little candies. The package contains 5 chocolate eggs and the candy inside each egg is different. They're like tiny little chocolate eggs filled with magic. AND. AND, they come with stickers. I mean, what more could you want in a chocolatey treat? I need an endless supply of these tiny chocolate cases of goodness.
Now, a lot of us will know what Hello Panda's are, those little chocolate biscuits with cute pandas printed onto them with a chocolate or strawberry filling? Well, these are those but with Koala's on basically. These are filled with strawberry cream and they're exactly the same consistency as the Hello Panda snacks. Most importantly, the Koala's printed on the biscuits are absolutely adorable.
Similar to the Koala snacks, these little ghosts are the same, but they're coffee flavoured. Now, I was gutted when I saw these because I can't stand coffee flavoured foods or snacks, but I did try one. My thoughts on these won't be fair because of my hatred of coffee flavoured food, but like the Koala's they are just like Hello Panda's.
These crisp like snacks are basically big corn puffs with a corn-like flavour. I wasn't too keen on these, although I did like the flavour of them. The snack itself are like a really thick Wotsit, without the luminous orange colour and cheese flavour. I did however love the adorable corn on the package with little outfits on.
Think artificial creamy strawberry topped cookies with this snack. I actually really liked these, and after taking these photos, I ate every last one. The cookie part of the snack tastes just like an Oreo and the strawberry swirl is like a solid strawberry milkshake *drool*.

This wasn't one of my favourite snacks within the box honestly, but I thought it was ok. To explain this snack, it's a small cookie (and I mean really small), and it has a soft centre which is what I found strange. When the package said 'chocochip cookie' I was expecting... well a chocolate chip cookie, but it was actually a hazelnut flavoured cookie with a soft-dough like centre. It was the texture that put me off really, but I think if it was in another flavour, I'd love this little snack!
One of the things I wanted to comment on though was the presentation of the snack box itself. It came in a plain cardboard box (seen in the first picture on this post) which I thought was slightly dull, considering how quirky their website and the snacks are. Also, the information sheet inside the box was a bit disappointing too as it was just a sheet of paper which looked a bit washed out, however the paper does include a password which you can enter on the website which gives you more information about the snacks in the box, which really helped me when I was trying the snacks and I thought it was a great idea.
So that's everything I got in the Taste Japan snack box I was sent. Huge thank you to Taste Japan for sending me the box, and make sure you click here to give their website a visit and maybe sign up to receive a box every month full of adorable and tasty Japanese treats! Overall I loved this snack box and I'm definitely going to consider signing up to receive one monthly.
Let me know which Japanese snacks you love or would like to try!
Peace,
